I study issues related to environmental justice, political ecology, and land management.

The focus of my work.

  • Arches National Park

    Environmental Justice

My work focuses on understanding how and why marginalized communities experience disproportionate environmental harms. I explore the power of grassroots movements, coalition-building, legal strategies, and policies to create containers for resistance, empowerment, and healing.

  • Moab, Utah

    Political Ecology

My research explores how power dynamics across social, political, and economic systems shape environmental policies and practices. I seek to analyze the impact of underlying social and political structures (especially settler colonialism) in driving environmental crises while simultaneously advocating for equitable and regenerative change.

  • Canyonlands

    Land Management

My expertise focuses primarily on issues related to regenerative agriculture practices, principles of food sovereignty, and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). I map conflicts around conservation, cultural preservation, and civil liberties, and showcase the ways in which people leverage policy frameworks, regulatory mechanisms, the law, and grassroots organizing to pursue a livable future.

The Snapshot

I am committed to supporting food sovereignty, climate justice, public health, and ecosystem regeneration.

My research grapples with how to build regenerative food and textile systems, restore natural ecosystems, balance the climate, and advance social & environmental justice.
