My life in a nutshell:
Outdoor adventures, raising kids, and asking big questions about policy and the environment.
My mission is to advocate for people and the planet.
I started studying issues at the intersection of environmental policy and public health as a researcher at the Duke Global Health Institute. Graduating with a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University in 2015, I then worked in Costa Rica for a year with the Hart Leadership Program analyzing issues related to food sovereignty, human rights, and climate justice.
I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy at CU Boulder, with the goal of continuing to build a career in environmental justice and natural resource management. My work outside of academia includes impact production for environmentally-focused films and sustainability consulting for mission-driven brands and non-profits.
Beyond my professional interests, I love to trail run, ski, kayak, backpack, boulder, and paddle board. If you need me, look for the nearest trailhead.
The downtime essentials.
Rain on a tin roof. Sand on the soles of my feet. Dark chocolate melting too fast in the sun.

I’m currently diving into When the Body Says No: The Cost of Hidden Stress by Dr. Gabor Mate. It explores the mind-body connection—and specifically how chronic stress can manifest as physical disease. It’s made me think more about how to holistically take care of myself.

I’d like to wake up in our camper van and go for a swim in a mountain lake. There would definitely be a long trail run happening to earn a little exhaustion. Things would come to a close with a sliver of moon and long conversations over a campfire.

I hope to take on new clients this year, and travel with my family to see the Northern Lights. I'm carving out more time to shop at the farmers market every week. I'm also enjoying training for a few high-elevation trail races this summer. Lately, I’ve been all but living in my Altra Running Lone Peak shoes and I’m happier for it. More discipline around my schedule means less rushing around.
